But the technician on the phone confirmed she could see the system had properly detected a smoke alarm, and it was just pending a CO alarm. Notably, while I was on the phone with Ring Support, after the app finally recognized the extended alarm beeping, I proceeded to the next step and it still said I needed to complete the test before the sensor would work. At the instruction of Ring Support, I held the button longer to get a series of beeps, which the app successfully recognized. ![]() Previously, I was only holding it down long enough to get a single beep. I just wasn't holding down the test button on my smoke alarm for long enough. Sure thing – happy to report they did resolve my issue. Instead, I needed to hold the button through a series of beeps, which the Ring listener did finally detect as a smoke alarm sound. I was letting go after the first beep, which I incorrectly assumed was the complete test alarm sound. Has anyone experienced and resolved this issue? Thanks in advance!Įdit: the issue was that I wasn't pressing down the test button on my smoke alarm for long enough. I also tried three separate smoke detectors (three different models which all make a slightly different sound), and the result is the same: the sensor lights up in red, but nothing is shown on the app. Factory resetting them does not seem to work either. I have tried two separate Smoke/CO Listener units and am seeing the same behavior. But for whatever reason, that isn't relayed to the app, so I am unable to complete the setup process. The sensor is almost certainly recognizing the alarm sound since I can see it briefly lights up in red. ![]() However when entering the "test mode" portion of the setup process, the app will not register any of the test alarm sounds from my smoke detector. I am able to successfully add the Smoke/CO Listener to my Ring system. This also means we won't allow you to share your link on the sub either sorry.Īs the title suggests, I'm having trouble setting up a Smoke/CO Listener.
